Our Beliefs

The Bible We believe the Bible, consisting of the 66 books of the Old and New Testaments, fully inspired and without error in the original manuscripts, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. We believe it to be entirely trustworthy, sufficient for the knowledge of God and His will, and the supreme authority for all matters of faith and conduct.

The Trinity We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons. These three persons are equal in every divine perfection and they execute distinct, but harmonious, offices in the work of creation, providence and redemption.

God the Father We believe in God the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully with the affairs of humankind, that He hears and answers prayers, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ We believe that Jesus Christ is true God and true man; that is, He is fully divine and also fully human. He preexisted eternally with the Father, was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin, Mary and is God’s only begotten Son. We believe in His sinless life, miracles and teachings. We believe in His substitutionary, atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people and personal and visible return to earth.

The Holy Spirit We believe in the Holy Spirit, a divine Person and the third person of the Trinity. We believe that He was sent by the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness and judgment, and to regenerate, indwell and impower those who trust in Christ. We believe that He gives spiritual gifts to believers for the proper functioning of the Body of Christ, which is the church.

Man We believe that man was originally created by God in His own image and is dependable upon and accountable to his Creator. The first man, through disobedience, sinned and fell from his original state of moral perfection and as a consequence, brought upon himself and the entire human race, the penalty of sin, which is physical and spiritual death. Therefore, every person stands under the just condemnation before God and is unable to save himself or present deeds worthy of merit before God.

Salvation We believe that the salvation of sinful humanity under the condemnation of God is possible only through the merits of the shed blood of Jesus Christ and received by faith apart from works. The benefits of salvation include the forgiveness of sins, a new standing before God, the impartation of new life, and the assurance of eternal salvation.

The Church We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated persons are members. We believe the universal church is visibly expressed in local assemblies, whose purpose is to glorify God through worship, fellowship, instruction in God’s Word, observing the ordinances and training in service to the world. The supreme task of the Chruch is to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a lost world and to demonstrate the love and compassion of Christ in word and deed.

The Last Things We believe in the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom. We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, that the believer will live eternally in the immediate presence of God in heaven, while the unbeliever will experience punishment for his sins in eternal separation from God in hell .
